Firecrackers New York Softball is a competitive youth softball program focused on long-term player development, accountability, and preparation for higher levels of play. Our goal is to develop complete athletes who understand the game, compete with confidence, and take ownership of their growth.
We emphasize consistency, structure, and intentional training over short-term results. Success is measured by progress, not just outcomes.
Firecrackers New York is built on three core principles:

Toughness means competing with effort and resilience, regardless of circumstances. Intelligence means understanding the game, making adjustments, and learning from failure. Fire means playing with passion, urgency, and pride in preparation.
These principles guide how we train, compete, and hold one another accountable.
Our program prioritizes complete player development, including:
Fundamental skill progression appropriate to age and level
Position-specific instruction and defensive versatility
Game IQ, situational awareness, and decision-making
Mental toughness, confidence, and composure
Physical preparation and injury-conscious training
Development is intentional and cumulative. Players are expected to apply instruction consistently and commit to improvement over time.
Firecrackers New York coaches are held to clear professional and ethical standards. All coaches are background checked, vetted, and compliant with the requirements of applicable governing bodies, including league, tournament, and sanctioning organizations.
In addition, Firecrackers New York coaches are expected to:
Teach fundamentals with consistency and clarity
Communicate expectations directly and respectfully
Hold players accountable while supporting development
Make decisions with the team’s long-term interests in mind
Model professionalism, sportsmanship, and respect
Coaching decisions regarding roles, positions, and playing time are made based on preparation, performance, and team needs.
Players in the Firecrackers New York program are expected to:
Arrive prepared, focused, and on time
Compete with effort regardless of role or result
Be coachable and receptive to instruction
Respect teammates, opponents, officials, and facilities
Take responsibility for their development and behavior
This is a competitive program. Playing time and roles are earned through commitment, effort, and execution.
Parents are critical partners in a successful program environment. Families are expected to:
Support team-first decisions and program standards
Communicate respectfully and through appropriate channels
Trust the development process and coaching staff
Reinforce accountability, preparation, and effort
Model positive behavior at practices and games
Concerns should be raised constructively and at appropriate times.
Firecrackers New York teams compete in regional and national events aligned with the team’s age and level. Participation requires a commitment to team schedules, including practices, games, tournaments, and team activities.
Specific expectations regarding schedules, travel, and commitments are communicated by coaching staff prior to each season.
